What is Scuber?

Scuber is a marketplace that connects people who lost something in a pond, lake, river or ocean with independent divers. The customer posts a recovery job, divers send offers, and the customer picks one. Payment is made by card in the app and held until the job is done. Cash is never allowed. The app is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.

How much does Scuber cost?

Divers set their own price, from $50 to $5,000. The customer pays that price plus a Scuber service fee of 10% (minimum $9.99); the diver receives their price minus a 10% marketplace fee. For a $50.00 job the customer pays $59.99 and the diver receives $45.00. See pricing and fees.

Built on trust

Payment held

Your payment is held through our payment partner until the job is done, then released.

Certification reviewed

Each diver uploads a certification card, and a person at Scuber reviews it before they can bid.

No cash, ever

Every payment goes through Scuber. That is what makes refunds and disputes possible.

Private pins

Your exact pin is never shown publicly. Only the diver you hire sees it.

A water-first map

See the water before anyone gets wet

Tap the spot where it went in. Scuber names the water body and shows how deep it is at your pin when we have data, always with a label that says how sure we are.

Pins stay private

Divers see a rough area until you hire one. Only that diver sees the exact spot.

Lakes, rivers, ponds and coast

Lake outlines come from open map data, so the pin knows which water it is in.

How it works

Three steps. No phone calls.

After you drop a pin, everything happens in the app.

For divers

Your certification, put to work

Find recovery jobs near you, send an offer, do the dive and get paid by bank transfer.

  • Pins stay approximate until you are hired, then the exact spot and chat open.
  • The customer's payment is already held when you are hired.
  • Scuber's marketplace fee (10%) comes out of your price, and you see what you receive before you send an offer.

Pricing and the lost and found board

Simple pricing

The diver sets the price. You pay that price plus a Scuber service fee, and you see the total before you accept an offer. On a $50.00 job, you pay $59.99 and the diver receives $45.00:

Diver receives $45.00Scuber's fees $14.99

If you do nothing after a diver marks your item recovered, the payment is released automatically after 48 hours, unless you open a dispute. See the numbers

Didn't find it? Someone else still might.

If a job ends without a recovery, you can keep your item listed on the lost and found board. If someone later finds something that matches, Scuber connects the two of you in a private chat. No money is needed and either side can walk away at any time.
